What is ahead for World of Warcraft in 2016

A New Year often brings thoughts of new beginnings, glimmers of hope that the future will be bright. As we begin 2016, Blizzard Entertainment's "Warcraft" franchise looks like it might have its biggest year in a long while. Big budget movies featuring characters and worlds that just a few years ago would have been impossible to feature on the big screen have proven to be box office juggernauts over the last few years. Viewers are now accustomed to seeing gods and superheroes battle it out on the big screen. In June, the denizens of Azeroth will get their turn to be exposed to a wider audience than ever before as "Warcraft" hits theaters. Directed by Duncan Jones and starring Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell, Ben Schnetzer, Rob Kazinsky, and Daniel Wu, "Warcraft" tells the story of the first interactions between the Orcs, as they flee their dying world, and the humans of Azeroth. The movie is sure to rekindle interest in former "World of Warcraft" players, as well as bring in some new ones. The other big happening for "World of Warcraft" in 2016 is the launch of the game's sixth expansion. "Legion" is expected to be released sometime in or before September, and brings with it an all-new "hero class." Players will be able to create Demon Hunters, which will have several special abilities. "Legion" will also introduce Artifacts to the game, powerful weapons based on weapons used by legendary characters in the game's history. "Legion" will also bring many changes to currently existing characters and game mechanics. There are going to be balance changes to each class, and the PvP system is getting an overhaul. Gear won't matter nearly as much in "Legion" PvP, where characters will be able to advance through an honor leveling system to gain PvP-only talents. "Legion" will also introduce Gnome Hunters to the game, along with the Mechanical pet family for Hunters. Gnome and Goblin Hunters will be able to tame Mechanical pets from the outset, and other Hunters will be able to tame them via a device made by Engineers. Stay tuned for more "World of Warcraft" news as the release dates for the "Warcraft" movie and the "Legion" expansion draw near.

World of Warcraft Patch 6.2:How Do Players Make Gold in the Game Lately?

So many years after its original release, and "World of Warcraft" is still being supported by its developer Blizzard very actively. The company has been hard at work resolving various issues that have been pending in their pipeline for a while now, and they have specifically addressed an issue with the "Gara" quest, something that has been bothering players for quite some time. In addition, the studio's developers have done some work on Mission Completion Orders as well as the PvP portion of the game, and all in all, patch 6.2 feels quite nicely polished and well-designed. It's obvious that a lot of work has gone into this update, and we expect to see even more active releases from Blizzard in the future. As long as "World of Warcraft" remains popular, it would make a lot of sense for the company to keep investing in it. If a player logs off, they shouldn't lose their progress on the "Vignette: Murktide Alpha" quest as before, nor during daily resets. This has been a commonly brought up issue with the game, but thankfully it looks like it will no longer bother players. Considering how difficult it can be to gain reputation with some of these factions, this is a pretty serious bonus that shouldn't be ignored, and players can benefit from the medallion a lot. It's not clear if it has any implications for the meta balance of the game, but there might be a need for some changes in the future if it turns out that its effect is too powerful. It's also affected by reputation modifiers, even the human trait or the Darkmoon buff. This makes it great in combination with various buffs, as it can give even more reputation than normal, allowing players to quickly progress through the factions that they are interested in. Of course, it also requires a careful preparation and organization of one's resources, in particular items that can offer an additional reputation boost. FIFA 16: Predicting Every Tottenham Player Rating

Tottenham Hotspur had a relatively positive Premier League 2014/15 campaign and finished in fifth place, just six points behind those coveted Champions League places. Essentially they did a Tottenham. Mauricio Pochettinos side looked brilliant at times but couldnt maintain their challenge for the top four, dropping points against Burnley, Stoke and Aston`Villa during the business end of last season.

FIFA-wise Tottenham represent a sturdy pair of hands who can do you proud against West Ham, Newcastle and Stoke but against the top teams they dont represent enough quality for you to continuously challenge your mate who has gleefully selected Man United. Spurs big-game players such as Christian Eriksen, Hugo Lloris and (this years) Harry Kane will guarantee you some luxurious button-pressing on FIFA 16 coins but have the North London side improved enough during the summer transfer window to begin to compete with big boys?

Not really. On a whole Tottenhams player ratings will definitely improve due to the number of young players who broke into the first team last season.Positive performances from Mason, Nacer Chadli and Danny Rose will give Pochettinos side a boost alongside new signings, Toby Alderweireld and Clinton NJie but the lack of big spending this transfer window means Spurs will be continue to be the best of the non-elite sides.

This article will look at each player poised to be in Tottenhams team next season and attempt to predict the rating that they will be given by EA Sports football brains. The algorithm being used takes the performances from last season combined with their FUT (FIFA Ultimate Team) card from last term.

Square Enix Yanks Bug-Ridden Final Fantasy XIV on Mac

SHOW NOTE: THE role of “Game Released Way Too Soon,” formerly held by Batman: Arkham Knight, will now be played by Final Fantasy XIV. Waves of vitriolic gamers forced Final Fantasy publisher Square Enix’s hand, prompting the company to suspend sales of the Mac version of its online roleplaying opus heading into the holiday weekend, citing—as with Arkham Knight—serious performance issues. The long-awaited Mac version of Final Fantasy XIV arrived on June 23, but elicited jeers from sites like Kotaku (“Final Fantasy XIV’s New Mac Client Is A Joke”) and Destructoid (“Final Fantasy XIV’s Mac port isn’t great”), because the game apparently runs like a drunken donkey whether you meet the required specs or not. The game’s producer/director Naoki Yoshida outlined the issue in a 2,000-word mea culpa on Square Enix’s forums. In summary: the Mac version was released too soon, the system requirements were set too low, and boy is Square Enix ever sorry. The word “apologize” occurs seven times on the page. The Mac version of Final Fantasy XIV uses middleware developed by TransGaming to get Windows’ DirectX visual systems working in the Mac’s OpenGL environment. That, in portability parlance, is what’s known as a wrapper, and since wrappers have to translate crazy-complex rendering logic in realtime, they always induce a performance penalty. Studios use wrappers to port games much faster, lowering their development costs. But what’s interesting in Yoshida’s disclosure is his claim that a native OpenGL version would still have been significantly inferior to the DirectX version. “Taking into account FFXIV’s high-end graphics, and the need to simultaneously render multiple objects, we determined that it would be near impossible to provide the same frame rate in native OpenGL that could be achieved with DirectX,” he writes, going on to explain why, and that both cost and the low rate of native performance returns led to the company’s decision to use a wrapper. Long story short, if you want to play Final Fantasy XIV at maximal speeds on a Mac, use Boot Camp. If you want a refund, Square Enix has you covered here. And if you bought the game and plan to ride things out, Yoshida says the company plans to update the game’s system requirements imminently, continue to improve the game’s performance, and once those two points align, re-release the game for sale. Indeed, Yoshida writes that “With the adoption of DirectX11 for Mac, and the replacement of OpenGL with a new graphics API in Apple’s next OS, the fundamental gap in current performance issues may soon be eliminated.” “Soon” sounds awfully optimistic.

Final Fantasy XIV Heroes Go Retro For Final Fantasy Record Keeper

Final Fantasy Record Keeper brings characters from the entire Final Fantasy series together. The next characters to get scaled down to 16-bit sprites are from Final Fantasy XIV. Y’shtola, a Miqo’te who made her debut in the first version of Final Fantasy XIV, is a veteran crossover character. In addition to being playable in Dissidia Final Fantasy for arcades, Y’shtola will be in Final Fantasy Record Keeper. She can cast ice elemental attack Aqua Aura, defense buff Stonraskin, and heal HP plus recover negative status effects with Medicara. Thancred, a male Hyur who plays a key role in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn’s story, can join your Final Fantasy Record Keeper party too. He has skills like the Dual Blade Spin which does two physical attacks in one turn and Dancing Edge which hits for four consecutive physical attacks. A crossover event allows players to get these two Final Fantasy XIV characters kicks off today in Japan and ends on August 4. All in all I couldn't be much happier with The Elder Scrolls Online

If you're not someone who enjoys playing and especially talking to others while you play, never fear! I too am not at all fond of social gaming, another reason why I've never played an MMO before this. When it comes to multiplayer, I really only play with family. I'll never be running around chatting with whoever wants to chat. But that doesn't appear to be a problem with this game. I've played far more all alone than I ever expected to be able to, which helps it to feel even more like an Elder Scrolls game. And that, my friends, is very appreciated.www.gmusd.com All in all I couldn't be much happier with The Elder Scrolls Online. It's pretty much everything that I hoped an MMO set in that world would be. Whether I'm sprinting around completing quests, finding familiar settings and books/items to appreciate, crafting like a mad man, or just taking in the beautiful scenery and music, I'm very much enjoying my time in Tamriel. It's a game made specifically for fans of the series to enjoy. And on top of that, you get to experience it all with others who share your love for the games if you so choose.www.6kfifa.com I can't speak for the hardcore MMO gamers and those unfamiliar with the series, but for those of you fans of The Elder Scrolls, many new adventures await thee!

ArenaNet responds to fan outrage over Guild Wars 2 Heart of Thorns prices

ArenaNet has responded to fan criticism regarding the way Guild Wars 2 expansion Heart of Thorns was priced. Throughout last week, large parts of the Guild Wars 2 community responded negatively to the way ArenaNet priced upcoming Guild Wars 2 expansion Heart of Thorns. The furore was mostly to do with the fact that there was no cheap upgrade option for existing owners of the base game. Today, the developer has announced a new refund policy as well as veteran rewards in an effort to placate the masses. "For our long-standing fans and loyal players, we would like to say thank you and show our appreciation. For all players who registered the core Guild Wars 2 game prior to January 23, 2015 and who upgrade their account by pre-purchasing and registering any Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns edition before its launch, we will add one additional character slot to your Guild Wars 2 account," reads the new blog post.www.gmfifa.com The developer said that the FAQ change was made in good faith, as it only wanted to clarify that Heart of Thorns is not a standalone expansion.

Introducing the Liberator

Insights from Senior Game Designer David Kim

The Liberator is a large, high-cost air unit that deals splash damage against its enemies in the sky. The liberator normally can’t attack ground, but it can target a specific ground area in order to deal high burst single-target damage to any unit entering that area. This ground attack only targets units, so structures can’t be hit with this weapon.

We want this unit to make the Starport more rounded along with the other changes we’re bringing into Legacy of the Void, like the banshee movement speed upgrade and the Battlecruiser Tactical Jump ability. By introducing this unit to the Starport and separating out the Terran mech vehicle and ship upgrades, we think it’ll allow for a more diverse set of strategies for the Terran. It will be difficult to upgrade all three of the Barracks, Factory, and Starport tech routes, so we’re hoping to see a good variety of mixed tech units depending on the matchup and strategies players choose to go.

not flawless, but still the best

Ardent fans of the Fifa football games know two things to be true whenever the latest instalment arrives. It will be mostly the same game as before, and it will also be the best football simulation ever. EA Sports, much like Apple with its iDevices, has found a winning formula, and it is reluctant to do more than drip feed us tiny changes every year.

That said, it has long been believed that this year’s instalment would be the big one. After all, developers have had almost a year since the launch of the Xbox One and Playstation 4 last November to really get to know the possibilities and limitations of these machines.

Well, the graphical improvements are by no means dramatic, but they are noticeable. Faces are more expressive, and EA claims that there are 600 emotional reactions that could potentially be seen during the game; players from opposing teams push, shove and bark at each other after having engaged in a series of aggressive physical battles over the course of the match. Strikers look pleased with themselves after scoring a belter and assistant referees … twitch their noses when making an offside call. Unnecessary perhaps, but it’s a tiny detail that adds yet another layer of realism to the most realistic football sim on the planet.

Indeed, EA Sports is all about the small things this year. Blades of grass (and, if it’s raining, water) go flying into the air in slow motion when the ball is struck during replays, the pitch develops physical signs of wear and tear over the course of the match, shirts are visibly pulled by defenders chasing a zippy winger and the PA system at Selhurst Park warns fans in the stadium that the Northern line isn’t running (hats off to EA, they’ve clearly done their research on that one).

The game now has disallowed goals, rather than laser-accurate robotic linesmen that will instantly stop play for offside the moment the ball goes anywhere near an offending player. That rollercoaster of jubilation followed by disappointment when your team is stripped of a winning goal in the dying moments of injury time is, to borrow a phrase from EA Sports, “in the game”.

Fifa 15 Servers Rectified, Totw 28 Players Live

This article has been updated with further details on Team of the Week 28, the players, and also what looks like a fix for earlier server problems.

Original article: The FIFA 15 servers just went down today right at the moment EA Sports delivered the TOTW for March 25. Players are reporting EA server problems right now with the most popular football game on PS4, Xbox One, and older consoles, even though no official statement has been released at the time of writing.

If you checked to see if EA’s servers are down today, then you would notice the Ultimate Team server status isn’t looking too good. Reports have arrived on the likes of website DownToday.co.uk, as well as Twitter with hundreds complaining about connection issues every few minutes.

One Product Reviews reader mentions, “I can’t get on my FIFA game, there was a problem with online squad”. Another states, “There must be FIFA 15 maintenance again, but after looking on official channels nothing is listed for 25th of March”. We have taken a look at the official Twitter accounts for EA and FIFA 15, although there isn’t any planned EA server maintenance, so it looks like the servers went down without any pre-planning. Chances are they will return pretty quickly, as long as this isn’t any type of DDoS.

FIFA Team of the Week 28 – You can see the new TOTW within the image above that EA published moments ago. There’s a free untradeable 15K pack available right now for everyone and Mega 35K packs at the Store, although they have a limit of 5.

Are you seeing EA servers down right now and if so, what games are you playing? We just tried to connect with FIFA 15, but cannot access FUT at this time. This article will be updated if EA leave a status update, so for now leave your comments and location problems are being experienced in below.

Update: It looks like the server issues have been rectified, although if you still have issues, then leave a comment. Also, we would love to hear you thoughts on TOTW 28?

ArcheAge Launch Update: Capacities, Communication, and Where to Find Info

Hi everyone, we'd like to thank you all for being a part of this absolutely massive launch of ArcheAge, Huge archeage gold sale at mmobays.co.

We've heard from a lot of you that ArcheAge has stirred up excitement for an MMO in a way that many of you haven't felt in a long time. When people are in and playing, we hear a lot that the game's the great, exciting experience they were waiting for.

While it's been great for many, it's been uneven for others, most notably if you're stuck waiting. (We know, we wait in the same queues you do.)

Know that we haven't been, and won't be, resting until the experience is great for everyone. We've been talking to you a lot about "patience - which has been extreme in some cases for sure.

I'd like to talk about what we're doing to make sure that all of you can have that same kind of experience.

SERVER CAPACITIES AND YOU

In an ideal world, we have all the hardware we need to host the ideal number of servers, in a way that works best for everyone. We'd strike the perfect balance between launch popularity, when everyone wants to be online 100% of the time, and the settled population of more normal play patterns that will naturally come over time.

In reality, we have to plan capacity months ahead of time, based on things like web site signups, numbers of people who play in alphas and betas, how long they play, and so on. There's a fair amount of science that goes into it, and in general it's pretty accurate. We then include extra for overflow, just in case we need more.

In this case, so many entirely new people showed up that we opened not just all of our launch hardware on the first day, but the overflow hardware soon after as well. Since Head Start, we've expanded both the number of servers and the capacity of all servers steadily. We try to let you know this both on the forums and on Twitter (@ArcheAge]) whenever this occurs.

Inside the business you'll hear people call this "problems of success," but make no mistake - since it negatively affects you, we remain obsessively focused on the "problem" part, not the "success" part. We treat these as high priority problems that we need to solve, as rapidly as possible.

GREAT, THANKS. THAT'S SUPER. WHAT ARE YOU DOING NOW?

Right. There are things going on both in and out of game to make things better:

1) Yes, more hardware is on its way to helping you! We're still aiming to strike the balance between short and long term and we know with certainty that more hardware is needed for both. We've heard both the "more servers" and "no more servers" crowds, and are certain we need to take steps toward more. I'm happy to share that the next round of hardware landed with our team in Texas this morning.

While I do wish that we could violate the laws of space and time to transport physical servers instantly, and help both NA and EU simultaneously, because of the way hardware is shipped out, and factors like "customs," there will be some delay between helping out the two regions. Do note that we're doing everything we can to make sure that delay is as minimal as possible. (We are aiming for days, not weeks, between.)

We'll be talking more about the details here over the coming days, in our Launch FAQ thread.

2) Note that we've been more aggressively sweeping AFKers, even manually when needed. For example, while we had said during beta that we were tentatively tolerant of AFK mount riding, we'd be keeping an eye out to see if it became a problem. Well, it's officially a problem when actual players who will be playing can't get in.

If you're not actively playing, please do be aware that you might not be there when you get back. Of course, while we do appreciate creative justifications such as "I am merely celebrating the excitement of launch by exercising my steed in a circular pattern for an extended period of time," those will still earn a quick trip to desktop.

We're also going to be setting up a more aggressive AFK timer as is suited to an over-popular launch, and ensuring that there are fewer ways to get around it. Again, this is all to create the greatest opportunity to get active human beings into the game.

3) As with any launch where you get massive numbers of new players, we need great people helping out with the typical things that happen as services scale up, which is why I wanted to talk Customer Service. You have wanted to talk with them. You've wanted to talk with them a lot. And they really do want to help.

Trion's CS team has already been expanded pretty massively, with scores of new people coming on board in the weeks leading up to ArcheAge's launch. There's a veritable dedicated army of people wanting to help. We're also happy to announce that we're ramping that up even more. As with all of our CS in the past, we're continuing down the path of natively fluent CS reps in each language we service.

4) Communication is critical during launches - We do get that. I've personally tweeted more during this launch than I think I have since Twitter existed. We're going to be redoubling our efforts, most notably on our forums, with even more people pitching in.

We had been trying to focus our updates into specific known locations, but that's not having the effect that we had hoped. We need to be in more places and threads that you're already discussing, so you can expect more of that beginning today, and in a more visibly 24/7 fashion than it might have appeared previously. We've been continuously working like crazy knocking down the types of launch issues one might expect, but if you don't see evidence of it, then it's not as helpful to you. We get that too.

One Month into WildStar

We're now one month out from the launch of WildStar – it seems like a good time to look back on our first month of being a Real Game. When you put as much blood, sweat, and tears into a game like this, you hope that when it's out in the public that it's well received. We've been fortunate enough to experience just that – fan response and buzz has been phenomenal, reviews and press coverage has been great, and the number of players rushing to get into Nexus has been strong. So strong, in fact, that we've had the need to add new servers to keep up with the demand and stabilize queue times. Pulling off a smooth MMO launch is no easy task, but our dedicated team here has managed to make WildStar's launch month relatively painless, and I'm very proud of them for that work. We've dealt with the odd hiccup, but there haven't been any major issues preventing folks from enjoying WildStar (especially once we got the launch queues under control as rapidly as possible). The community has been great about identifying bugs they've encountered, and our team here has done an equally admirable work in providing hotfixes and solutions to these issues. We're working toward ensuring the best experience for seasoned players and new MMO folks just getting into Nexus. This week we have the Strain Ultra-Drop hitting the live game, and this massive content offering will give fans a good idea of what they can expect from us moving forward. Players now have access to a new zone, new housing items, new gear, new mounts, new lore to discover… and that's not even everything! When we launched WildStar, the buzz was that we were one of the most feature-rich and content-rich MMOs ever to launch, and we're doubling down on that: providing large amounts of new stuff to do, tweaking existing content and features, and adding and improving areas at a regular cadence with future drops. If you think there's a lot to do on Nexus now, cool – but really our goal is to have the best MMO on the planet over time, and our secret to that is to keep listening to our players, being responsive in real time on major issues, staying transparent, and growing and improving the game on a regular basis. If we can every month improve where we can do better and further grow the areas we're already strong, we'll win that race. Stuff we'll keep working on: We just banned over the last few days 7200 botters and hackers; PLEASE use 2-factor authentication as the vast majority of these are hacked accounts using account names and passwords from previous games. We'll ban more (anecdotally this has had a good effect on seeing less mining bots in the game, but there will be more until they run out of hacked accounts) and add more tools and detections to help (in the same way we got zone spam under control). To help out we're dogpiling lots of folks (devs, folks from other groups, folks from other games) to help out our CS team with tools and bodies – they have to both handle bans and also restore the hacked accounts, which takes time. I suspect the next round of dev fixes that are incoming should make yet more major improvements, but I'll hold off standing in front of a 'Mission Accomplished' banner until we're sure. Since we're the popular game in the industry right now we certainly have the attention of all the RMT scammers/hackers, and we'll keep fighting that fight. Many improvements on optimizations have gone in the last month and just before launch; many folks have seen big improvements from the various beta drivers as manufacturers have released those, and there are some new AMD fixes going in in this week and work continues on optimizing on all systems. We've also had, I'd say, a pretty rapid pace of bugfixes and class fixes going in; that of course will continue and we'll always work to tweak class balance as we gather data and folks figure out the optimal gameplay styles for the classes. We want to thank you all for your time on Nexus, for helping new players get acquainted to the game (they're the hardcore of the future) and for sharing ideas and thoughts with our dev team on how to make our game even better. This has been a labor of love for all of us here at Carbine, and the response we've received from the fans has us bright eyed about the future of our game. We're on this journey together. FIFA 14 review: fifaservice

Apparently following an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" methodology, the FIFA team hasn't introduced any large, game-changing features this year. Heading into the next console generation, this is very much a "tune-up" year in regards to FIFA 14, and for good reason: It's pretty hard to top EA Canada's efforts with the FIFA series in recent years. Each iteration of the soccer sim has gradually tapered off its impactful improvements, with the introduction of physics in FIFA 12 and then First Touch Control in FIFA 13.fifaservice.net Continuing the trend, the biggest on-field changes in FIFA 14 revolve around one of the first things players will notice: The game feels a bit slower. The fact is, the game's actual speed may not be any slower than before, but the continual tweaking of passing and dribbling mechanics has lead to FIFA 14 becoming a much more methodical game than before. Your team's progressions seem to take a little longer since the defense plays your attackers tighter, resulting in passing lanes that are a tad harder to find. The dribbling mechanics added in FIFA 13 have been altered – no longer requiring players to hold the left trigger – and effectively performing some of the fun combinations from last year is more difficult and confusing now. FIFA 14 (6/6/13)guy4game.org The left trigger is now used mostly for protecting the ball from defenders. Holding the trigger causes your player to shield the ball, a strategy that seems especially effective along the wings, yet otherwise ineffective against even a mediocre defense. Still, it causes your player to slow down and wait for teammates to better position themselves to receive a pass, which also happened much slower than I would like. When sprinting, the ball gets knocked a little further away than it did a year ago, lending more vulnerability to faster styles of play, especially when considering tweaks made to First Touch Control. fifa14service.com Introduced last year, First Touch Control causes more unpredictability in the ball's movements, and this year it's more sensitive to less skillful athletes. This causes a much clearer differentiation in how teams play and how players effectively move the ball around the pitch. While I can't necessarily say that Lionel Messi or Christiano Ronaldo feel different from one another, they certainly perform better than a no-name player from some two-star Chilean club. The former two superstars might be able to get away with sprinting around the field a little and still avoid confrontation, but with the majority of teams you'll need to employ a slower, more tactical strategy, as less skilled athletes are more likely to lose control of the ball. gameusd.net If EA Canada's goal is to eradicate the arguably cheap "sprint and through pass" tactic employed by some in the past, they've done an admirable job in doing so with the game's AI alone. In the mid-to-high difficulty levels, the opposition snuffs out passes and makes tackles with ease, and then knocks the ball around your challenges when on the attack. It seemed as if opponents, regardless of their supposed skill level, navigated the field and the openings in my defense much easier than my team could. Additionally, don't bother trying to tackle a CPU-controlled player that is sprinting along the sideline while shielding the ball; it seems downright impossible to get the ball away from them until they're already in the box and approaching the net. The saving grace here is that slide tackling is more viable this year and no longer a guaranteed penalty, thanks in part to a slightly cleaned-up physics engine that doesn't have players falling over one other as much.
